Girls-Just-Want-To-Have-Funsgiving

Alexa, play something festive. It's time to roll out the fancy napkins, turn on those lovely candles, bring out the china that we only use when the Queen is in town, and let's get to planning.

The holiday season is in full swing and you feel it everywhere you go! Whether it's the festive cheer in the air, the smell of cinnamon and nutmeg, or the sound of Mariah Carey reminding us that all she wants for Christmas is you! The holidays are here and we are loving it - 2 reasons: Festivities and oh did we mention FESTIVITIES!!

We recently hosted our very own Friendsgiving but just for the girls - call it Friendsgiving with a twist, call it Girlsgiving, call it GirlsJustWantToHaveFunsGiving! Call it what you will, but we had such a blast that we're thinking about making GirlsGiving an annual tradition. All in favor say 'aye'!

Where does one even begin when planning such an event? Picture the flow of the party and break it down—it's our go-to strategy. We kicked things off with adorable invites for our GirlsGiving gala. Setting the mood with invites is a great place to start.

Pro Tip: Canva is great for things like this. Get creative or use one of their many templates as a starting point.

When it comes to food, potlucks are THE BEST for events like these! Not only do you get to try amazing food your friends have made, but you can also turn it into a fun recipe swap! In the essence of togetherness, the recipe swap is not just about food; it's about creating traditions and strengthening bonds! Sharing recipes means sharing a piece of yourself and what better time to do so than during the holiday season?

Pro Tip: Assign food categories or courses to guests so you don't end up with 5 mashed potatoes.

At our dinner, we had so much fun learning about each other’s dishes and even had a turkey shaped bread! Food is art right?

Now, let's talk decor. We were going for a cozy, fall vibe without going overboard—although, is there such a thing as too much fall? We went all out with an elegant tablescape, personal pumpkin table cards, rich plum-colored flowers, and, of course, candles for that extra touch. Remember, decorating should be a blast and reflect your unique style!

Something that really made the night special was sharing what we are all thankful for. We created a thankful station where guests were encouraged to share what they are grateful for while also snapping a polaroid throughout the night. Incorporating thoughtful activities like this creates sweet bonding moments and stronger connections.

And of course we couldn't end the night without a fun transition into Christmas!! We had these cute little wooden nutcrackers for each of our girls and had them paint their very own nutcrackers to take home. How fun and festive!? It added a dash of excitement to the night and kept our guests engaged and entertained.

We truly had the best time! Cheers to good vibes, great company, and girls just having fun! As the festive tunes keep playing, we're already counting down to next year's GirlsGiving bash. Until then, may your holidays be filled with warmth, laughter, and making memories with your favorite people!
